Can you answer JANE S’s question about Diabetes?:
My daughter is hypoglycemic and over the past three weeks has been having trouble controlling it. The diet has not changed. The only meds. she’s been on recently is prednisone. This stuff is supposed to be out of a person’s system within 24 to 48 hours after finished taking it. She has been having trouble ever since she took this medicine and she has been done with this medicine for a while. All her blood work came out great. Any feed back?

Diabetes Feedback: Yes, one of the side effects of steroid therapy is increased difficulty in maintaining blood sugars. Call her primary doctor for more information and concerns about this.
I’m sure that she’ll be better soon, God bless.
Diabetes Feedback: Prednisolone which is a steroid can cause a hyper- glycaemia not a hypoglycaemia. Even then it would have been temporary.
What was the blood level you reckoned as hypoglycaemia?
Hypoglycemia means that blood sugar level is low as to be medically significant.
