I am looking for suggestions on a very good skin cream for insulin pump users. As pump users know, when taking out the infusion set, a scar/hardened/itchy skin can be left behind.

Diabetes Feedback: Repcillin is very good for the skin, it is amazing for healing and also the itching.
Diabetes Feedback: What I do is rub some hydrocortisone cream in the spot I am going to put my infusion set a couple hours prior to actually changing it, and then a few days later when I take the infusion set out, I rub the spot again with hydrocortisone cream. This has helped a lot with the hard and itchy skin. For just general moisturizing of my body, I use the Bath and Bodyworks body cream.
Hey redflower down there, hydrocortisone has never affected my blood sugar and I was following doctor’s recommendations.
Diabetes Feedback: ^Don’t use hydro-cortisone cream my diabetics teacher says it can raise your glucose (sugar) levels. I use neosporin, either brand name or store brand, same ingredients less money, they make one with a numbing agent that helps a lot, it comes in cream or ointment. If you don’t know what neosporin is, I’m giving you the link below so you can check it out.
Maybe this will help if your not already doing this, I don’t stay on the same side each time, if it’s on my left side the next time I put in on my right side.
Pumps can be a drag. but they give the best control and it beats injecting yourself throughout the day. Good luck I hope this helps.
