Diabetes Feedback: well im not saying this is going to happen but worst case scenario is you have to get them amputated

Diabetes Feedback: I never heard of neuropathy getting better, it only gets worse. It leads to poor curculation, and eventually tissue death of the affected parts. I would talk this mover with a doctor, who is the pro, and can answer your questions more accurately than us laymen.

Diabetes Feedback: There is no way to get feeling back so always be careful about checking your feet for sores and open wounds. Always wear shoes even in your house. It would be easy to get a nail or such in your foot and not know it until it is too late to save the foot. My mother did that and now she is in a wheelchair because the doctors had to take off her leg to save her life from blood poisoning. I am diabetic too and am very paranoid over my feet. I check them every night and keep my carpets clean.

Diabetes Feedback: Don’t ever give up. Keep that sugar down. You never know. Contrary to what others say, I’ve read where SOME people have regained SOME feeling. Read up on supplements. It can’t hurt….

Diabetes Feedback: Usually diabetic neuropathy doesnt get any better, but keeping your blood sugar under control can prevent it from getting any worse. Also dont take any supplements other than what is prescribed from a Dr without checking with them first, even OTC

Diabetes Feedback: Depending on how severe the nerve damage is, sometimes improvement can occur after several months of well-controlled blood sugar.

Supplements and alternative therapies, which hav not been proven to help, should be used with caution as many will interact with medications you may already be using. Discuss this with your doctor. Also remember that supplements are not controlled like medications and what you see on the label is not necessarily what you get.

Some people get relief from certain medications - especially if the neuropathy is painful. Again, something to talk to your doctor about.

Diabetes Feedback: Once neuropathy gets to a certain point, it doesn’t get better. Of course, it may not get worse if you have your sugar under control either. I have it in my feet, my bs is not controlled because I am taking prednisone at the time for another condition. It plays heck on my bs. My neuropathy advances in stages, it seems like. I am hoping that I will soon be off the prednisone and get back in control. Then I am praying the neuropathy will stablilize. Get your dr. to give you Lyrica. It helps some.
